Sports

Many people love sports. They love to watch, play, practice, attend, and invest their lives in sports. Why? Well, who doesn't love watching their favorite sports team bring home a championship, even if that team is a youth hockey team from a town in Illinois? Who doesn't love playing a sport that's competitive? Who doesn't like doing something that is fun? Who doesn't love to play a sport that even if they aren't the best, they still get to play? Who gives up the opportunity to have excitement and joy?
Weather you played back in the day or are playing now, when you step onto that court, ring, track, ice, lane, floor, or field; nothing bothers you. Sports offer all this and more. Yes, you lose sometimes, but it doesn't matter. Everyone is going to loose somedays. The trick is getting back up and trying to succeed again and again.

If you don't like sports, but have learned to love something just as much, then you've found your "sport". That's the thing. For me, even if it isn't a real "sport", it is still probably competitive. Like music. When someone is a composer, they want to be at the top. They want to be the best musician the world has ever seen. Why? Because they love music. Because they love the thrill they get when they do well, move up, or create something magnificent. It's competitive which makes it fun.

This post isn't meant to be controversial and make it seem like you have to love a sport. It is meant to show why sports are so important to so many people. You see these crazy fans of some team and you think, "Wow, what a lunatic." That person might be crazy, but the person may also just love his/her team and his/her sport. The key to a sport is fun. And that's why so many people, like me, love sports. When it comes down to it, a sport you love is plain and simple fun. It doesn't matter how much you know or how well you play, if you have fun with it, it's your sport.

So what sport are you?
